Seven League was appointed in early 2017 to audit England Netball’s digital performance and create a strategy for digital transformation.
Since then our two organisations have been on a journey together which took in the unforgettable, landmark year England Netball enjoyed in 2018.
The overhaul of England Netball’s digital portfolio meant the organisation was able to take full advantage when their unprecedented year came about: winning gold in the Commonwealth Games in April after reaching the final for the first time and then beating home nation Australia, and then winning twice at BBC Sports Personality of the Year (Team of the Year and Greatest Sporting Moment).
Netball is one of very few sports that can claim to be female-only at the elite level, as well as being phenomenally successful at getting women active in the many grassroots versions of the game.
Following our work to set out England Netball’s digital strategy, Seven League was extended on a rolling basis to deliver the transformation project as England Netball moves towards a World Cup on home soil, in Liverpool, in 2019.
Included in the digital transformation project is an overhaul of social media channels, a new website, and the development and implementation of a new CRM and data ecosystem that will allow England Netball to harness the power of data and grow commercially while improving user experience across all digital touchpoints. We have also worked side-by-side with England Netball to maximise media opportunities, including an appearance on BBC Breakfast which featured the launch of a new Back-to-Netball initiative in partnership with the Women’s Institute.
