Work
Although in the past few years we’ve done ground-breaking work on social media and data, our experienced team has a wide range of technical skills that allow us to deliver websites, mobile apps and connected TV apps, too.
Our clients include:
Manchester City FC
Richard was the first head of digital for MCFC in 2011 — winning the FA cup with the club (all down to digital, of course), but also winning the Sports Industry Awards Website of the Year and two Lovie awards for mobile and social. The digital service was tasked with driving reach and retention, with revenue coming from sponsorship and increased membership. A key project over the year was the successful launch of a tiered membership scheme, including exclusive content offering and ‘clever’ membership card.
The most well-known projects at the club include:
- pre-match Google+ hangouts
- post-match interviews on Facebook and Twitter
- broadcasting fan tweets in real-time on screens around the stadium
- becoming the first Premier League football club to sign a content deal with YouTube
- an augmented reality app that allows fans to ‘lift’ the FA cup
- a re-vamped membership card scheme
- new membership cards with QR codes and RFID technology
- partnering with foursquare and creating a MCFC foursquare badge
- giving away content for free rather than charging for it
Earlier this year Richard stepped back into a ‘Digital Playmaker’ role – now, less embarrassingly, referred to as Digital Innovation Consultant. He continues to work with the club on strategy, partnerships and new product development.
Limelight Sports
Limelight is a company with a big vision to redefine sport participation in the UK. We are working with Limelight to engage sports participants in new and innovative ways.
The Rugby Football Union
Working closely with Nick Shaw in leading the RFU’s digital operation, we have helped develop the digital strategy and guide operational improvement. We are especially proud of our involvement in the planning and creation of the IBM TryTracker.
Harlequins Rugby Union
Harlequins have a belief in the power of digital to transform the club’s reach, fan engagement and revenue. On a range of different digital fronts, we are helping them to turn that belief into a reality.
Major League Soccer
Having seen our previous work in the Premiere League with Manchester City FC, Chris Schlosser got in touch to ask if we could work the same magic with the MLS. We’re currently working closely with several of the MLS clubs to accelerate their digital performance.
The England and Wales Cricket Board
We are helping the ECB to form its digital strategy and to evolve its digital publishing operation. We are working with a few of the FCC teams individually, but also with the ECB as a whole.
The International Cricket Council
Our excellent relationship with the ICC means the whole team has helped in many areas of the digital landscape – advising on technical, strategic, mobile, creative and social solutions.
BT Sport
We are working with BT Sport to help them develop their digital service — which is currently all we’re able to say as all the interesting projects are still very hush-hush.
British Film Institute
At the BFI we delivered a strategy based on being “culturally valuable and commercially viable”, including developing four innovative projects and creating/launching the BFI Player.
Celtic Football Club
We looked at Celtic’s social media and worked on an ROI calculation for them.
Trinity Mirror PLC
Our work at Trinity Mirror involved leading a strategic and commercial development of Trinity Mirror’s regional web publishing operation.
